With the Vista SP1 issues, the recent drop in prices for Vista, and the Yahoo take over attempt what is the direction that Micosoft is going?

That added with billion dollar plus fine the EU has just laid on Microsoft rises some questions on what is going to happen with the gaint.

Vista SP1 Has Mixed Reviews 0x80070020 Errors Unresolved

We spoke too soon Vista SP1 has many unresolved errors. It is such a complex install that many users fail for VARIOUS reasons. We have one PC that works great with Vista Ultimate but when we try to install SP1 we continue to ge 0x80070020 errors after over two hours for each attempt.

The Microsoft reponse when we call for techinal support is "We do not support SP!"
